On an annual function, 63/20 metre of cloth is required to make a dress for participant out of which 3/20 metre is wasted.  If 220 children participated in the event,  how much cloth is used ? Also , find the quantity of cloth wasted. 

Answer :

out of 63/20 3/20 was wasted means 60/20 was used and 3/20 was wasted  for a participant 
    for 220 participants 
                used cloth = 60/20 i.e. 3*220
                                             =660 m 
               wasted cloth = 3/20*220
                                   =33 m
