let sweets shekar had =x                                                                                    sweets he gave to renu =1/4 * x                                                                          sweets he gave to raji =5                                                                                     sweets left =7                                                                                                   so, 1/4x - 5 = 7                                                                                                    1/4x = 7+5=12                                                                                                    x=12*4=48                                                                                                        number of sweets shekar had=48
