Hub:
Hub is a very important component of a computer network.
It is a physical device which directs the electrical data signals towards all other devices which have been connected.
Functions of hub:
1. A hub uses a mode of communication where a device can either send or receive data but this can't be done at the same time.
2. A central hub is used to connect all the other networking devices present in a network.
3. A type of hub called an Ethernet or LAN technology hub is often used to connect several Ethernet devices so that a single networking unit can be created.
Drawbacks of Hub:
1. The transmission speed is low.
2. The data can't be transferred at its appropriate destination.
