the study of history is very imp and useful.it helps to reconstruct the past.historical knowledge must be based on evidence.everything must be looked at in a critical way to check for any errors.the sources to study history are archaeology,literary and documentary sources.Archaeology:-it is the study of remains of things dug out from under the earth.there are many archaeological sources namely:-tools and weapons,megaliths,shelters,animal bones,pottery, artefacts ,cave paintings,jwellery,old buildings & monuments,coins,edicts and inscriptions. Therefore,archaeology is very imp source to reconstruct past history especially of the prehistoric period fr which there is no written record.History period:-it is a period for which there is a written record.for exp:-religious and secular text,memoirs,chronicle,travelogues and acconts of foreigners.
