The results of the election are officially declared and the president receives the report from chief election commission regarding the members elected and party position with number of seats won.

Each political party gathers support from independent candidates, other smaller or bigger parties in some days. After some time when parties form allies, the party which has been able to secure the support of more than half the strength of lok sabha (546), that is 273, will be asked by the president of India to from the government. The leader of the party or allied coalition is invited. The signatures of support by each newly elected MP on a supporting document is submitted to the President.
