Gregor Johann Mendel is a well-known scientist who worked on pea plants to study the concept of inheritance. He is well known for pea-plant experiments and various theories on genetics. He formulated particular laws depending on the results which included inheritance of certain traits in pea plants. He was considered to be ‘Father of Genetics’. These experiments with pea plants laid a step for further experiments of hybridization.
