1. In math test each wrong ans is awarded -1 mark and each correct ans is awarded 2 marks. Find the total score of a student scoring 56 marks on the correct ans and -2 marks on wrong ans and give the no of correct ans and wrong ans.

1.  56 marks are scored on right answers, so number of questions answered correctly = 56 / 2 = 28
   Number of questions answered incorrectly = - 2 marks  / -1 = 2 
   total  number of questions : 28+2= 30

2. N = 40
     English = 40 * 1/5  = 8 
     Maths = 40 * 2/5 = 16
     Science = 40 - 8 - 16 = 16
      Fraction for science = 16/40 = 2/5

3) Trunk = 27.6 kg     Suitcase = T * 5/6 = 27.6 * 5/6 = 23 kg
 
        Bags = Suitcase * 1/8 = 23/8 = 2.875 kg
         Suitcase + Bag = 25.875 kg       = Suitcase ( 1 + 1/8) = 23 * 9/8 kg

4)  - 57 x (-19) + 57 
           -57 ( -19  - 1 ) = -57 * -20  = 1140 
           Property we used here is the distributive property (of numbers) of multiplication over addition (or subtraction).
