Total number of persons = 840
n(H) = 450
n(E) = 300
n(H∩E) = 200
People those who read neither Hindi nor English = 840 – [ n(H) + n(E) - n(H∩E) ]                                                                        = 840 – [450 + 300 - 200]                                                                                 = 290
