let the number of  boys be x
in 1/4 day man will complete  work =(1/4)/3= 1/12
In 1/4 day woman will complete work=(1/4)/4= 1/16
In 1/4 day x boys will complete work=x(1/4)/12=x/48
As per question 1/12+1/16+x/48=1
                       ⇒ 4+3+x = 48
                       ⇒         x =41
 Total 41 boys must assist.
