Desert plants are also called xerophytes.They have adopted themselves to survive without water for many days.They have waxy layer on stem and this fleshy stem stores water as desert receives very less rain.Their leaves are modified into needles so that less water is lost due to transpiration(loss of water by evaporation through aerial part of plant.)
