AIDS called as syndrome and not a disease because AIDS ( HIV virus ) effect only the immune system of the body then blood which contains WBCs are not able to fight any type of disease as a result our body parts are not stable . therefore AIDS ( Acquired Immune Deficiency syndrome ) at that time a small type of pathogenic microorganisms which are always presents are attacks on that body . since AIDS is a syndrome which is group of symptoms that are characteristic of a disorder and other side disease are defined as disorder of a specific organ or any body system get infected thats why we can say that AIDS is a syndrome not a disease .
AIDS stand for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome... It is caused by Retorvirus - HIV . It is called a Syndrome because group of symptoms which occur together one after the other.. It has been detected in body fluids like blood ,semen,saliva,tears and urine. This disease attacks the Immune System , ans the patient suffers seriously from even a minor infection.
The Incubation period and the appearance of symptoms can be more than 10-12 yrs.During this period the infected person show +ive results for HIV and hence he or she is called HIV +ive.
Most of the individuals die within 3 yrs.
Symptoms are Swollen lymph nodes, fever, night sweats and weight loss.
Transmisson of the disease.-
1.Sexual Intercourse
2.Contaminated Blood Transfusion
3.Mother to Child Transmisson
4.Injection and Needles sharing.
