Most of the pieces of comet are burnt up by heat generated due to friction in the earth's atmosphere.They are called as meteors.

Some bigger size meteors may survive the heat and may not be completely burnt.These blazing objects which manage to reach the earth are called meteorites.

-meteors are the heavenly body which enters the earth atmosphere and get vanished because they are small and by the friction in the atmosphere that are not reach to the earth's surface . 
               meteoroid is a heavenly body which are big in size compared to meteor and they also enters to the earth atmosphere but they are large in size so friction is not vanish meteoroid as a result that meteoroid reaches to the earth surface .
