An integer is any whole mathematical number that is not a fraction. Integer can be a positive number, negative or zero.

The answer for the questions:

a) Sum of two numbers that gives an a negative integer:

3 + (-4) = -1
2 + (-5) = -3
4 + (-6) = -2

b) an integer smaller than both integers:

(-1) + (-1) = -2
(-2) + (-3) = -5
(-4) + (-7) = -11

c)An integer smaller than only one of the integers:

3 + (-2)  = 1
1 + (-1) = 0

d) An integer greater than both integer:

1 + 2 = 3
4 + 6 = 10
3 + 5 = 8
7 + 2 = 9

Solution:-

(a) A pair of integers whose sum is a negative integer :

[- 3 and - 6]

As  (- 3) + (- 6) = - 9

(b) A pair of integers whose sum is an integer which is smaller than both the integers :

[- 3 and - 6]

As  (- 3) + (- 6) = - 9

(c) A pair of integers whose sum is an integer which is smaller than any one of the integers :

[7 and - 2]

As 7 + (- 2) = 5

(d) A pair of integers whose sum is an integer which is greater than both the integers.

[7 and 2]

As 7 + 2 = 9
